Preparing for an Inspection

Documents

If you are an experienced ride controller you will be aware that the documentation required for your device depends on the age at which it was manufactured.  There are some documents that all devices require.  Please make sure you have the correct documents prior to inspection.  If you are unsure as to which documents you should have, please contact us and we can advise and assist.

Preparing your device for inspection

Your device should be presented on the day of inspection as if it were open to the public unless there has been specific consultation with TK Inspections and you have been given other instructions. Devices requiring NDT inspections should consult with TK Inspections prior to inspection.  We will require parts/components disassembled for the NDT inspections.

Industry advice and regulations.

The industry is regulated and under the guidance of the Health and Safety Executive and the ADIPS scheme. Both have extensive guidance and advice for controllers of devices. Please visit the ADIPS website http://www.adips.co.uk where there is a range of informative documents. The HSE also has a range of pages on its website regarding Theme Parks and Fairgrounds.  The HSE website for the entertainment industry can be found here: http://www.hse.gov.uk/entertainment/index.htm.  If you cannot see what you're looking for please call our office and we will advise and assist you.

Maintenance

If you have any maintenance work or repairs that you have outstanding please carry this work out prior to the inspection visit.  All maintenance work and repairs should be logged, documented, and carried out with advice from the manufacturer and by a competent person.  If you are unsure of any elements of your repair or maintenance work we can advise you accordingly.
